Paramount Finally Sets Premiere Date for Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2

The wait is finally over. Paramount Network has revealed the long-awaited premiere date for the back half of Yellowstone Season 5.

In a date announcement video shared on the official Yellowstone YouTube channel (via Deadline), it was revealed that Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will premiere on Paramount Network on Nov. 10, 2024. “The wait is over. November 10th. The epic return of Yellowstone,” teased the video’s narrator, who then reminded fans that the show’s final episodes could only be found on Paramount Network. Check out the Yellowstone date announcement video below.

Yellowstone premiered on Paramount Network in June 2018, following the Dutton family, who are the owners of the largest ranch in Montana. The fifth season, focusing on patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner) preparing for political war as he takes office as the governor of Montana, aired its first eight episodes between November 2022 and January 2023. This means that when Season 5 Part 2 premieres, it will have been almost two years since fans last saw the Dutton family on their television screens. The second half of the season was supposed to begin airing over the summer of 2023, but production was indefinitely delayed due to conflicts with Costner.

Kevin Costner Unhappy With How Yellowstone Exit Was Handled

There have been a lot of conflicting reports about what led Costner to exit Yellowstone, from reported scheduling issues to series creator Taylor Sheridan missing production deadlines. While promoting his new Western movie, Horizon: An American Saga, Costner admitted to feeling disappointed with how the controversy was handled, saying, “I read all the stories. I was disappointed that nobody on their side… ever stepped up to defend what it was I actually did for them. There came a moment where I thought, ‘Wow, when is somebody going to say something about what I have done versus what I haven’t done?'” Despite having been written out of the series’ final episodes, Costner shared that he would be willing to return to wrap up John Dutton’s storyline, but only “under the right circumstances.”
