One of the longest-running reality shows in TLC’s history, Sister Wives, released season 19 episode 3 on Sunday, September 29 at 10 pm ET, also available to stream on Hulu the next day. The popular reality show focuses on the lives of Kody Brown and his 4 wives (Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Meri) and the ups and downs that occur in their lives due to their polyamorous agreement.
In the previous episodes of season 19, Mykelti’s baby shower brought together Kody, Robyn, and Christine after months of not remaining in contact while Janelle contemplated selling her share of the lot in Flagstaff and moving out, Kody also expressed his confusion regarding Janelle not wanting to reconcile in Christine’s wedding.
Previously, Meri divorced Kody but remained “spiritually wedded” until their separation in 2023. Christine Brown also separated from Kody in late 2021 while Janelle left Kody in 2022 after spending 30 years of their lives together.
What happened in Sister Wives season 19 episode 3?
Mykelti invited all the sister wives in episode 3 as she was about to give birth to twins. Kody wasn’t invited as there had been a visible rift between him and the rest of the family. The failure to communicate with his family members and now exes resulted in the divide of their property in Coyote Pass. The property was initially bought for the whole family to live together.
Later, a couple known to the Brown family invited all the exes to the wedding along with Kody. He wasn’t fond of running into his exes but Robyn insisted on going. This led to Kody acting awkwardly like a stranger towards his exes apart from Meri with whom he shared some words. He later said in a confessional that he failed to understand Janelle’s point of staying apart and wanted the marriage to work.
Janelle confessed in Sister Wives that she felt something was off in Kody and Robyn’s home when the former visited them with her kids. She suggested that her kids knew that Kody wouldn’t be around as much due to their unusual situation but ever since Robyn entered the picture, Kody mismanaged the time he could share with his kids.
Kody and Janelle have six kids together, and three from Robyn’s previous marriage were adopted, along with sharing 2 kids together. Robyn didn’t believe that the conflict arose after her arrival as she acknowledged that her kids love Kody but that never stopped him from spending time with his other kids.
“Did it ever stop Kody from going to another mom’s home? No, it didn’t. I wouldn’t have allowed it,” stated Robyn.
Robyn also asserted that Meri’s kid, Leon, was also accepting of Robyn’s kids. She also claimed that others might have struggled to feel the same way. Christine chimed in by stating that her six kids did not want to visit Kody’s house because of how the adults interacted with each other.
The first time Janelle and Kody collided in Sister Wives was when Janelle’s adult kids moved back in with her. This prompted Kody to suggest that Janelle should choose whom to keep in the house between her kids and him. Janelle ultimately decided not to kick her kids out which irked Kody.
One of the older kids later saw Robyn at the aforementioned wedding and hugged her. He confided in Robyn that the older kids missed her as she treated them like family and that’s why she was also invited to Mykelti’s c-section.
Robyn even stayed with Mykelti for a few days after having her twins since Mykelti already has an older daughter and the couple needed some extra hands. Robyn mentioned on Sister Wives that she was mourning some “lost relationships” and was dealing with situational depression.
