Sister Wives season 19 aired episode 2 on Sunday, September 22, 2024. The segment saw Christine sit down with Janelle about Cotoye Pass. The family bought a large piece of land at the pass when they were together in hopes of building a community there together.
Christine asked the cast member if she still wanted to build a place there, and Janelle said she loved the place but didn’t think it was feasible in the long run. She said she wanted Kody to buy her out because it had been a dream of hers.
Christine couldn’t understand why anyone would want to live there since the property had to be “paid off” and questioned Janelle about her current dynamics with Kody.
Fans reacted to the conversation online and were critical of Christine’s line of questioning. One person wrote on X:

Sister Wives season 19: Janelle and Christine discuss Coyote Pass property
In Sister Wives season 19 episode 2, Let There be Light, Janelle contemplated leaving Flagstaff as she looked for properties with Maddie in Montana. However, the search made her think about the Coyote Pass property that the cast purchased together before the three wives, Christine, Meri, and Janelle, had parted ways with Kody and Robyn.
She spoke to Christine about the property and said that while she loved the piece of land, she knew it wasn’t feasible in the long run. She added that she might want Kody to buy her out. The Sister Wives season 19 star Christine didn’t understand why anyone would still want to live there.
Janelle told the cameras she had always wanted her own land where she could have a garden and animals. She said that while it was her dream, Kody didn’t want the same thing. Christine said in a confessional that living with Maddie was different than living in Coyote Pass with Kody and Robyn living in the same vicinity.
The Sister Wives star told Christine that if Kody wasn’t going to buy her out, she would hire a lawyer since they needed to pay the property off as well. Christine said that while it was ridiculous that the TLC star needed a lawyer to communicate with Kody, she felt it was a “wise” decision.
As Janelle tried explaining herself, the Sister Wives star interrupted her and asked whether her marriage with Kody was over. Janelle said yes, and Christine asked if Kody knew it was. She asked if she had Janelle had told him it was over and the latter said no because they had not spoken in a long time.
Christine’s questioning and conversation left fans divided, and they took to social media to react to it.
